Presidential Candidate:Does Religion Make a Difference?

Everyone is giving Mitt Romney, a Republican Presidential candidate for '08, a whole bunch of crap because of his religion (he's Mormon), even though if you know any mormon , they are a freindly and kind people. They obey laws, don't drink, dont smoke ,gamble, or cuss. They beleive strongly in family values and support and obey the law. Why is that everyone puts a bad name when they hear mormon? Please respond to either the Mormon question or whether religion makes a difference. Thanx.
