Should I have a boyfriend?

okay. i'm only 11 years old. i really like a boy who's not in my homeroom cl. but we are both really good students, so we see each other in the extra-credit cles. i think he likes me, but he avoids me, i guess you could say. he smiles at me any time i look at him. our usual lunch tables are across from each other, and i see him during science and gym. i'm not really sure if i'm allowed to have a boyfriend, but my parents and i don't have enough of a relationship to ask. i told all my friends that i like him and they are all like "yeah, he does like you back. believe us." but i just can't. Help?
